 -   Advanced Medical Life Support

 TFR

 -   Trauma First Response / PHTLS for Responders. 
 -   Teaches the principles of Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) to non-EMS practitioners, including first responders, police officers, firefighters, rescue personnel and safety officers. 
 -   It helps them prepare to care for trauma patients while serving as part of a transport team or awaiting a transport provider. 
 -   The course serves up core PHTLS content to those who haven’t had EMT or advanced prehospital training. 
 -   The lectures and practical stations are designed for the type of care first responders can render while awaiting patient transport or when assisting paramedics and EMTs at a trauma scene. 
 -   Teaching stations follow the associated lectures each day. 
 -   While targeted at those up to and including EFR level, the course is an ideal opportuniy for those who are EMT or higher to revise and/or update their skills/knowledge. 
 -   1-day intensive course, that consists of interactive lectures, teaching and evaluation stations.

 B-Con 

 -   Bleeding Control for the Injured. 
 -   This course was developed by NAEMT's PHTLS Committee to increase collaboration between law enforcement, the fire service and EMS in responding to active shooter/IED/mass casualty events. 
 -   B-Con is consistent with the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus on Improving Survival from Active Shooter Events. 
 -   The Hartford Consensus Group recommends that the response to a traumatic incident, whether involving an active shooter or some other cause of injury, in fact begins with bystander response. 
 -   It is with this in mind that the B-Con course was developed and is now being offered. 
 -   Course enables participants to: 
    -   Explain the rationale for early use of a tourniquet for life-threatening extremity bleeding. 
    -   Demonstrate the appropriate application of a tourniquet to the arm and leg. 
    -   Describe the progressive strategy for controlling haemorrhage. 
    -   Describe appropriate airway control techniques and devices. 
    -   Demonstrate the correct application of a topical hemostatic dressing (combat gauze). 
 -   3-hour course, that consists of interactive lectures and teaching stations. 
 -   Recognised for 3 CPC Points for PHECC-Registered EMTs.

 ACLS 

 -   Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Full classroom version). 
 -   The official ACLS course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient. 
 -   The overall goal of the course is to improve the quality of care provided to patients who suffer a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergency. 
 -   Students enhance their skills in the treatment of cardiac arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of planned simulated cardiac and respiratory emergency scenarios, which are designed to reinforce the core concepts of emergency cardiovascular care. 
 -   ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. 
 -   In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

 -   The official e-learning 'Heartcode ACLS' course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient.

 ACLS-EP

 -   Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Experienced Providers. 
 -   The aim of the ACLS-EP Programme is to further develop the student's knowledge and skills in the management of both the peri-arrest and the cardiac arrest patient gained on the basic ACLS course. 
 -   It also introduces students to the many areas of resuscitation that may require a different approach than that of a 'basic' ACLS provider.

 -   Short case-based teaching stations build upon the knowledge gained in the pre-course learning materials. 
 -   Skill stations teach the fundamental practical skills of paediatric emergency care such as, defibrillation, airway management and intraosseous (IO) access.
