The GEMS Course is a 1-day course available for Pre-hospital Practitioners and those involved in pre-hospital care of geriatric patients.

The proportion of the aged in society today is greater than ever before. The Irish older population (i.e. those aged 65 years and over) is projected to increase very significantly to between 850,000 and 860,700 by 2026.

This older population will present a significant challenge to pre-hospital care providers everywhere in the years ahead.  The GEMS course is designed to assist in dealing with the particular challenges of the emergency care of the elderly in an innovative, comprehensive, and highly visual format with:

• Case-Based Lectures
• Live Action Video
• Hands-on Skill Stations
• Small Group Scenarios

Outcome: Certification from NAEMT
